Coaching is a method of training a person with the specific aim to develop specific skills or behaviours.  Agile Coaching, ergo, is specific to the tenets of agile practices and processes, and in many cases, to developing an agile mindset.  Good agile coaches have practical experiences to draw on, a questioning mindset, and demonstrate living the agile values through actions.

The agile coach role has come to prominence in many industries with the prevalence of agile delivery methodologies.  An agile coach has been required for teams either because the teams’ manager does not have enough specific agile experience, or because they recognize that they can delegate this responsibility to empower (senior) people and coach their teams.

What we do

At Accuteque our preference is to identify people in your organisation that would make good agile competency leaders (see Mary & Tom Poppendieck) and help them to develop their own agile coaching skillset.

We use the same lean change management approach to agile coaching engagements.

We will gain insight into your organisation to identify what is working well and what can be improved.

Working with your people we will define options for how we can achieve your goals. In some instances, this may be a pure agile coaching role, or it may be coaching your people to be competency leaders. Or a combination of the two.

And we will devise small experiments to test out our hypotheses and reflect on positive change and value.
