FemLINKPACIFIC Organisational Assessment Project
FemLINKPACIFIC is a feminist media and broadcasting organisation established in September 2000 and is registered under the Charitable Trust Act in Fiji. FemLINKPACIFIC seeks to empower women, the disabled and the under-served communities in Fiji by creating an enabling environment for their voices to be heard. The organisation is a leading advocate of UNSCR 1325, community media and of women, peace and human security concerns.
The Accuteque organisational assessment objectives were to provide:
- Relevant information to support organisational learning.
- A baseline assessment of the organisation in key areas: leadership and strategy; structure and governance; processes and human resources; and relationships, including networks.
- Recommendations and strategies to guide future organisational development.
The Accuteque team ran the project over the course of 6 weeks, relocating one of their team to Fiji for some of the duration. Here we undertook activities such as workshops, interviews (group and individual), and document reviews.
Through a process of principles guiding analysis and recommendations, Accuteque was able to conduct an assessment that drew from a theoretical knowledge about important factors that promote organisational effectiveness, the research about how these play out in practice and practitioner knowledge of what it takes to create cultures that support effective and sustainable organisations.
Through the application of this framework Accuteque was able to provide a series of detailed findings relating to the strengths, vulnerabilities and weaknesses and opportunities. This assessment culminated in a series of recommendations to strengthen the organisation and promote change.
Upon completion of the project, IWDA were overwhelmed by the outcome:
“I have to say that it has been an absolute pleasure working with both Anne and Lesley. They are incredibly professional, kind and have been such a support to us and our partner FemLINK through this process. We certainly feel it has been a rewarding experience for us as well and would like to continue the relationship into the future.”
